The Academic Success Centre goal is to promote student achievement and retention, develop independent life-long learners, and support innovation in learning and teaching through the integration of learning strategy and peer tutoring services.

I need help with...

  • Test Taking Strategies
    I should see a Learning Strategist

    I need to bring: my text, my notes, my agenda, past tests from course.
  • Reading & Remembering
    I should see a learning strategist.

    I need to bring: my text book, my notes, my syllabus.
  • Understanding Course Content
    I should visit the knowledge hubs.

    If I feel like I need additional tutoring help, I should book an appointment with a Peer Services advisor to inquire about tutoring support.
  • Understanding Assignments
    I should see a my professor.

    I may also choose to see the write on centre to help develop my ideas.

    I need to bring: my assignment, assignment outline & rubric, my work so far.
  • Time Management
    I should see a learning strategist.

    I need to bring: my syllabi, my agenda.

    I can also see the learning strategy assistant for additional time management help.

About Academic Success Centre

The Academic Success Centre provides all Georgian students with writing, math and study skills, learning strategies and peer tutoring.

The staff's priority is to empower students to take responsibility for their own learning while assisting students as they develop high-level learning competencies.

To achieve this goal the Academic Success Centre is staffed by a team of

The LSAs work in the Knowledge Hubs (Barrie) in the Library Commons, the Writing Centre and in the Math Centre.

One-on-one tutoring is available to students in specific courses. Tutors are matched with students on an individual basis by the Peer Services Advisor. Students who would like to receive tutoring may visit one of our knowledge hubs or meet with the Peer Services Advisor to discuss individual tutoring needs.
