Go to and create an account by entering your name (or username), a password, and your Georgian College email address. You can use either your or email.

Staff and faculty can use their email.

Note - If you already have an account with a personal email address you will need to make a new account using your Georgian College email to activate your premium subscription.


When prompted, go to your Georgian email inbox to find a confirmation message.

Confirm your subscription by clicking verify email.

Note: If you don’t receive an email quickly, please check your junk and clutter box!


After verifying your email, your account is active. You can also add a browser plug-in if you wish:

* Browser extensions allow Grammarly to check anything you type into online text boxes.

Using Microsoft Word on a PC?

If you are using Windows and wish to add a plug-in directly into Word, go to and follow the prompts (the Word plug-in is not available for iOS).

Inside of a Word document Grammarly will appear on the right-of the document and provide suggestions similar to the online editor.
