About This Guide

This research guide on scholarly communications provides the Georgian College community with articles, reports, web sites and videos on the concepts involved in scholarly communications. The guide paints a whole picture of the complexities in this topic such as copyright and intellectual property, the open access movement, citation impact, the use of social media in scholarship and tips for authors who want to write proposals and be published.  The guide also provides as much of a Canadian context on scholarly communications as possible. Scholarly communication is quickly undergoing significant change and this guide will help students, staff and faculty navigate the information needed to understand the scholarly communication landscape and publish their work.
