The health and well-being of paramedics is a very important topic and highly relevant to public safety in Canada. In 2017 the Canadian Paramedic Health and Wellness Project: Workforce Profile and Health and Wellness Trends was created by Steven L. Fischer and Renée S. MacPhee and prepared for the Defence Research and Development Canada's Centre for Security Science.
This report investigated how paramedic service to Canadians may affect their health and well-being. The primary objective of this project was to gather baseline information to describe the workforce trends, sociodemographics, and current health and wellness of paramedics in Canada. Please check out this report for health and wellness indicators, which included both mental health and physical fitness measures for paramedics.
