21st Century Competencies
Essential Employability Skills (EES)
Global Competencies
What do all of these have in common? Each of these identify mindsets, skills, and knowledge that educators at all levels believe to be important for success and growth in our current world.
At Georgian, we map essential employability skills at the course level and generate a picture of how those skills are threaded through the program. According to the Ministry, the EES are communication, numeracy, critical thinking and problem solving, information management, interpersonal, and personal.
A report by Suto (2013) identifies four main categories: ways of thinking, ways of working, tools for working, and skills for living in the world.
While there may be no consensus on what 21st Century Skills are, there are common threads.
