AI Organizations

This is not an exhaustive listing of all artificial intelligence organizations, but they are ones which distinguish themselves in the discussion of ethics, research and development, education, social implications and the understanding of artificial intelligence mechanisms. It's significant to note that many of these organizations are affiliated with academic institutions.

AI Now Institute
The AI Now Institute at New York University is an interdisciplinary research center dedicated to understanding the social implications of artificial intelligence. The work focuses on four core domains of rights & liberties, labor & automation, bias & inclusion and safety & critical infrastructure.
Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI)
The AAAI is a nonprofit scientific society devoted to advancing the scientific understanding of the mechanisms underlying thought and intelligent behavior and their embodiment in machines. AAAI aims to promote research in, and responsible use of, artificial intelligence.

Canadian Artificial Intelligence Association
Formerly known as the Canadian Society for the Computational Studies of Intelligence, CAIAC's mission is to foster excellence and leadership in research, development and education in Canada's artificial intelligence community by facilitating the exchange of knowledge through various media and venues.
Center for Human-Compatible Intelligence (CHAI)
CHAI is a multi-institution research group based at UC Berkeley, with academic affiliates at a variety of other universities.
Future of Humanity Institute
The Future of Humanity Institute is a unique research centre that works on big picture questions for human civilisation and explores what can be done now to ensure a flourishing long-term future. Its work spans the disciplines of mathematics, philosophy, computer science, engineering, ethics, economics, and political science.
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)
IEEE is the world's largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.
Partnership on AI
In support of their mission to benefit people and society, the Partnership on AI conducts research, organizes discussions, shares insights, provides thought leadership, consults with relevant third parties, responds to questions from the public and media, and creates educational material that advances the understanding of AI technologies including machine perception, learning, and automated reasoning.
Waterloo Artificial Intelligence Institute (Waterloo ai, University of Waterloo)
Since launching in 2018, Waterloo.ai's multidisciplinary research teams have been collaborating with industry to develop intelligent systems in areas such as disease detection and treatment, understanding language and emotion, vehicle navigation, and ensuring fairness and equity in such systems.
World Economic Forum
The World Economic Forum (WEF), based in Cologny, Geneva Canton, Switzerland, is an international NGO, founded in 1971. The WEF's mission is stated as "committed to improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic, and other leaders of society to shape global, regional, and industry agendas." The World Economic Forum provides great content on the 4th Industrial Revolution, geostrategy, economics and the environment.
